Quantitative Reasoning Center

The mission of the Quantitative Reasoning Center, or QRC, is to be a prominent resource for both faculty and students to achieve quantitative literacy across the curriculum. The QRC follows the lead of the Academic Enrichment Center to aid and enhance the broad range of quantitative skills necessary for all Earlham College students to be successful both in the classroom and society.

For faculty in the natural sciences and social sciences, the QRC serves as a resource to identify the quantitative skills needed by students to be competitive in the classroom.

For all students, the QRC provides the necessary support and skill development for quantitative literacy across the curriculum.

For new students, the QRC supports academic advising with a quantitative assessment to help align students’ skills with their academic program.

Group tutoring

Get a better understanding of your classes, in a way that makes sense to you. Led by peer tutors, these sessions are pre-scheduled and available for a number of high-demand classes.

1:1 Tutoring

Need extra help and can’t find a group tutoring session for your subject? Request individualized sessions with a trained peer tutor for your classes that are not supported by group tutoring or the Writing Center. Students may request tutoring for up to two hours per course each week.

Study skills enhancement

Are you struggling with finding time to study and making school work a priority? Work with a time management peer guide to get (and stay) on track moving forward.

Quantitative Assessment for New Students (QANS)

Incoming students should take the QANS now.

Earlham is committed to supporting you and accommodating your needs to make your experience here a transformative one. In that effort, we offer resources and opportunities to ensure your success and retention.
