Specialized programs
In addition to the traditional majors and minors that come to mind when you think of a liberal arts education, Earlham also offers a number of specialized programs that provide additional depth and breadth to your entire Earlham experience. Explore some of the options available to you below.
Pre-professional programs

A Bachelor of Arts degree from Earlham College offers an excellent foundation for students seeking to enter careers in engineering, healthcare and law, and our pre-professional programs provide expert advising and other benefits for these students. In fact, Earlham is one of the leading colleges in the U.S. for the percentage of our graduates who go on to earn graduate and professional degrees. Our personalized approach to advising will ensure you have the tools you need to pursue your professional goals.
Our pre-professional offerings:
INTERNSHIPS AND OFF-CAMPUS STUDY
Through the Center for Global and Career Education, you can participate in both internships and off-campus study opportunities.
Earlham students find challenging and meaningful internships in our local community, in other cities during the summer, and in far-flung places as part of off-campus study programs. These opportunities are available in every field imaginable, from science and health care, to education and social service, to the arts and humanities.
Earlham is renowned for our off-campus study programs. Whether you want to study away for a semester or a year, or spend a few weeks in the summer doing research on-location with faculty, there’s a program for you.
Student and faculty collaborative research

Collaboration is the key to research and scholarly activity at Earlham. Students develop close working relationships with faculty in the classroom, laboratory, library and in the field.
Earlham faculty regularly involve students in their professional research projects and help students pursue projects of their own design. Of Earlham’s teaching faculty, 85 percent report having conducted research with students. This interaction extends across all the disciplines at the College and often to off-campus sites throughout the United States and the world.
