Earlham College forms partnership with career exploration company Possible

Earlham College has announced a new partnership with the career exploration company Possible to expand opportunities for students seeking careers in the tech industry.

The Earlham Center for Career Education will select five students to enroll in Possible’s five-week, online career accelerator program, beginning in summer 2024. Students will participate in networking sessions, hands-on projects, workshops, panels and events led by industry leaders from companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Square, Etsy and Modern Treasury.

“Students benefit when they can apply all that they’ve learned in the classroom with personalized, hands-on engagement in the real world,” said Mila Cooper, Earlham’s executive director of career education and community engagement. “Working with Possible will be a defining experience for these students and bring clarity to their professional pursuits.”

Earlham is one of five member institutions of the Great Lakes Colleges Association partnering with Possible, including Kenyon College, Wabash College, Denison University, Allegheny College, and Oberlin College.

“It is an honor for us to be able to partner with Earlham College,” said David Chase, CEO of Possible. “Not only will their students get an opportunity to network and gain insight from top industry professionals, but they will also be networking with their peers at five other top liberal arts schools. This experience will lead to exposure and clarity on careers that are available to Earlham students and ensure they are better equipped to enter the job market and kick off their new career.”

The partnership is the latest initiative to strengthen Earlham’s signature student success initiative called the Epic Journey, which combines the College’s nationally recognized classroom experience with funding for research and internships, and co-curricular opportunities that foster personal and career development.

Earlier this fall, the College announced a partnership with Ascend Indiana, an initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Sponsorship, to match students with promising career opportunities across the state.

Students now have free access to the Ascend Network, the initiative’s job-matching platform, and receive personalized job and internship recommendations. During the job search, application and interview process, the Earlham Center for Career Education will continue to provide individualized support and educational resources, in partnership with Ascend.
