Faculty Interview and Search Committee
In the context of Earlham’s commitment to inclusivity, the Faculty Interview and Search Committee (FISC) aims to uphold the College’s Mission, and Principles and Practices. FISC thus serves as an advisory committee (alongside SSIC) to the provost for matters of tenure-track faculty hiring and appointments. All tenure-track faculty search committees are assigned one FISC liaison. FISC meets with each faculty candidate brought to campus as part of their interview process. FISC forms an independent assessment of the candidate which, along with that of the search committee and SSIC, is communicated to the president, via the provost. FISC maintains a Faculty Search Manual which is updated regularly in accordance with non-discrimination laws and in consultation with the Offices of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity. FISC circulates the updated Manual to all faculty.
