Lori Schroeder, Ph.D.

About Me

Lori Schroeder, Ph.D., serves as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Earlham College, providing leadership for the College’s academic and instructional programs, including those of the Earlham School of Religion. Before joining Earlham in 2024, she held senior academic leadership roles at California State University Maritime Academy and Franklin College. Her experience in higher education spans more than three decades and includes service as a professor, department chair, associate dean, dean, and provost. Dr. Schroeder is a scholar of English literature whose work focuses on the intersections of gender, race, and class in Shakespeare’s writings. She earned degrees from Purdue University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Denver.
