How did Earlham help prepare you for your current career?

“The rigorous academics and busy extracurriculars prepared me for a career that requires balancing many demands/priorities at the same time. Many courses, student led extra curriculars, and my time as an admissions tour guide prepared me for a career that involves lots of public speaking. The Quaker principals that were bestowed upon me as a student helped me to excel in a Quaker organization as well as directly formed my leadership style. Most importantly Earlham helped me realize the importance of having a purpose and a passion. I have Earlham to thank for the extraordinarily rewarding career I have today.”

Why do you volunteer for the college?

“Earlham was an incredible experience for me. It is a place that changes lives for the better and allows people to find their true selves through its inclusive and supportive culture. If my volunteer work can change just one other young person’s life by helping them choose Earlham then what better way to repay Earlham for what it gave me.”

Favorite Earlham memory?

“WOW SO MANY great memories with so many great people. I would have to say teaching my Bodysculpt fitness class in the wellness center or being a tour guide in the admissions office. These daily experiences made my Earlham experience even more meaningful because I felt I was contributing to both the future of Earlham (admissions office) and the wellness culture of the college.”
