How did Earlham help prepare you for your current career?
“I majored in English, but decided I wanted to teach elementary school age children. I had a class with Dr. Kraft and several classes with Mable Arnold. She even made up on class for me – visit a master teacher in every school in Richmond – one of my best classes! I did my student teaching at Westview school in Richmond. I had to get my Master’s degree at Ball State by going summers.”
Why do you volunteer for the college?
“Well, I am of the class of 1951. There are not very many of us left.”
Favorite Earlham memory?
“I played the piano for Man Sheung Cheng, from Hong Kong to practice her singing lessons. I enjoyed her friendship.”
