How did Earlham help prepare you for your current career?

“I’m currently in Medical School and Earlham’s biochemistry department could not have done a better job preparing me for this. I remember a physiology class my first year of med school, I was sitting next to one of the top students in the class and she said, “Oh my gosh, I’ve never even heard of this before.” I thought to myself, “Oh, Bob Rosenberg taught us this.” Earlham’s science professors didn’t just teach us the material on the test; they taught us how to read new research with a critical eye, how to manage our time and understand how to get back up again after a failure. I was prepared for this academically and mentally.”

Why do you volunteer for the college?

“Earlham will always be an important place to me. I met my closest friends and husband there, have an amazing career ahead of me because of Earlham, and learned so much about myself and the world. College can also be really difficult sometimes, and if a student needs some help navigating it, I want to be able to offer whatever help I can.”

Favorite Earlham memory?

“So many. How can I pick just one?”
