Class of 1969
We oldies are gathering together again. It will be our 55th reunion. Reunions past the 50th used to be clumped together as Emeritas, but Earlham is beginning to see that we oldies still want to gather in large enough numbers to deserve our own grouping. So on Friday we will be recognized at the Alumni Awards Ceremony at 5:30 in Carpenter with a preceding reception at 4:30 at the Landrum Bolling Center. Then we will gather together with appetizers at 6:30 until 7, dinner following, at the Olde Richmond Inn where we met on Friday five years ago. We will again have dinner, place not yet specified, on Saturday. We may also get a tour on Saturday of the Gennett Records Walk of Fame. It honors Richmond’s important role as “the cradle of recorded jazz” in the 1920’s, despite the prominence of the Ku Klux Klan in Indiana at the time. Hope we can meet to recognize our own heritage and friendship as well as the Earlham/Richmond heritage that allowed us to thrive. Fellow classmates who did not graduate with us and spouses/significant others are also welcome as always. Save the dates October 17-20, 2024.
