“This is a fun, safe and comprehensive way for admitted students and their families to learn about the transformative experiences and outstanding learning outcomes that we offer—just before the national May 1 decision deadline,” said David Hawsey, vice president for enrollment management. “We’re pleased to offer an in-person program that emphasizes safety while still showcasing our scenic 800-acre campus.”
The program begins with morning refreshments delivered to participants’ cars in the parking lot southwest of the College’s main entrance off U.S. 40. Presentations begin at 9 a.m. and the tour starts at 10:30 a.m.
Participants will meet current students and faculty and learn about Earlham’s Epic program. A signature element of the Epic program is the guarantee of a funded internship, research experience, or project before graduation. The College offers these experiences through five interdisciplinary centers related to global and career engagement; global health; social justice; environmental leadership; and entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity.
Lunch will be delivered at noon to participants’ vehicles and will feature a sampling of the College’s dining services menu.
The programming will also be broadcast via FM radio transmitter to ensure that participants don’t miss information from presenters.
The College also announced and invitation for incoming Earlham College students to participate in a competition to design the official Class of 2025 T-shirt. Entries will be accepted until June 1. The winner of the contest will receive $100 voucher to the campus store and three T-shirts of their own design. All members of the Class of 2025 will be given a class shirt to wear when they arrive on campus in August.
Earlham looks forward to offering in-person learning and living for students this fall. The College successfully resumed in-person classes and intercollegiate athletics in the current academic year. To ensure the safest environment for students and employees as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, Earlham will continue to observe guidance from the CDC along with local and state officials.
