Earlham College announces direct admissions pathways with 8 Friends schools 

Earlham College is expanding its network of partnerships with Friends schools across the United States. The partnerships are resulting in direct admissions pathways designed to connect academically talented students educated in the Quaker tradition with a U.S. News & World Report Top 100 national liberal arts college. 

“The growing number of Friends schools partnering with Earlham reflects the strength of the connections we’re building with schools that share our educational values,” said Jeffrey Perkins, Earlham’s vice president for enrollment management, marketing, and communications. “These represent a renewal of relationships that we have long held. We’re excited to welcome students from these outstanding communities and to give them a clear pathway to an Earlham education.” 

The partnerships provide students with high academic achievement a more accessible path from Friends schools to Earlham, including direct admission for students who meet established academic criteria, and significant merit scholarships for eligible students. Each partnership also includes personalized admissions advising from Earlham, either on site or virtually, to help students and their families navigate the college search and enrollment process. 

Earlham now has direct admissions pathway agreements with eight Friends schools in the United States: 

• New Garden Friends School — Greensboro, N.C.  

• Tandem Friends School — Charlottesville, Va. 

• Sandy Spring Friends School — Ashton-Sandy Spring, Md.  

• Friends School of Baltimore — Baltimore, Md.  

• Germantown Friends School — Philadelphia, Pa.  

• Abington Friends School — Jenkintown, Pa.  

• Delaware Valley Friends School — Paoli, Pa. 

• Oakwood Friends School — Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

In addition to these partnerships, Earlham now offers 19 new scholarships specifically for Quaker students, ranging from full tuition, room and board to $5,000. 

Earlham also continues to offer its Quaker Fellows program, which fosters community, nurtures students’ spiritual lives and encourages deeper engagement with Earlham’s core values, including respect for persons, integrity, peace and justice, simplicity and community. Quaker Fellows receive a $2,500 annual renewable scholarship as well as an enhanced financial aid package. 

The program is open to students from diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds who are curious about Quaker values. Fellows participate in approximately 50 hours of programming and individual exploration each semester, with opportunities to develop community, spirituality, and leadership.
