Earlham Chamber Orchestra w/members of the RSO

The Earlham Chamber Orchestra, joined by string players from the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, presents a concert of varying colors, just like the season.
Featuring: Autumn, a concertino for strings and harp by Virgil Thompson, Ravel’s impressionistic settings of five children’s stories (Mother Goose Suite), and the bright classical beauty of Beethoven’s Symphony no. 1. Also on the program is a new work for strings, harp, trumpet, and electronics by music director Forrest Tobey entitled Back Roads to Far Places, based on a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
