Why Earlham: I chose to attend Earlham because I wanted to go to a college that embraces Quaker principles. I knew that I would be respected and valued. I came back to work at Earlham because I wanted to be in a place that would challenge and support me every day. Also, Earlham intentionally creates space for exploration, engagement, discovery, relationships, and growth. Accompanying students and families during the admissions process brings me joy!
Favorite Richmond spot: Hayes Arboretum
Fun fact about me: I lived in Colombia, South America, for about seven years. During that time I was an ecological tour guide, completed a Master’s in Spanish Linguistics, taught English and economics at a small university, and was an English teacher for the Colombian singer Juan Fonseca!

Why Earlham: I wasn’t planning on going so far from home for college! But I came to an Admitted Student Day event and fell in love with Earlham. This is a quirky, lovely community and it feels like my second family.
Favorite Richmond spot: My house, which was built in 1890. We have amazing architecture!
Fun fact about me: I started our Kpop club on campus. It’s still going strong!

Why Earlham: I have loved this place since I was seven. Past Earlham professors and staff were the caring adults at my Quaker meeting. I learned to ride a bike, fly a kite and drive a car on campus.
Favorite Richmond spot: Hayes Arboretum

Why Earlham: I grew up in the Richmond area, so I have always been connected to Earlham College. It was Earlham students that helped spark my love for comic books and just being able to help share people’s stories with one another. As an Earlham student, I met so many great people I still keep in contact with who helped me through some really challenging times in my life. But thanks to the friends and faculty I met at Earlham, I was still able to get my double major and get employment immediately after graduation. Since working at Earlham, I have loved every opportunity I have had to learn more about my students’ stories.
Favorite Richmond spot: I am a sucker for the Comic Relief Comic Book Shop, as well as the Retro Rush Arcade in the Depot District. Both are great places where I can just “nerd” out, catch up on my weekly pulls and, just in general, find some people that I share some interests with.
Fun fact about me: A fun fact about me is that I usually carry a fan somewhere on me in most places. If you ever see me around, don’t be afraid to ask what fan I have that day.

Why Earlham: I visited Earlham for Scholar's Day when I was a senior in high school and fell in love with it. I wanted to attend a school outside of the area where I grew up (New England) and I love the Quaker values that serve as the foundation for an Earlham education.
Favorite Richmond spot: Old Richmond
Fun fact about me: I'm also a writer and I'm working on my first novel.

Why Earlham: I grew up in Richmond, so Earlham has always been a part of the place that I love and call home. My grandma lives just a few blocks away and as a kid I loved coming to campus because it felt so warm and welcoming. After coming back from College and starting to look for work, I knew I wanted to be in a place that aligned with my values and that felt like home. Earlham’s community and principles made it feel like just the perfect fit and somewhere I could grow as a person and a professional.
Favorite Richmond spot: The Farmer’s Market or Gulzar’s Indian Cuisine!
Fun fact about me: I have 12 years of musical experience and I can play 5 different instruments.

Works with: AK, AL, AR, AZ, FL, HI, ID, LA, MS, MT, ND, NE, NV, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WV, WY

Why Earlham: The community. When I first came to Earlham, I found a family among friends and faculty who were always there to support me. After graduating, I wanted to give back to the place that shaped me and helped me grow into the professional I am today. I chose to stay because of the incredible community I had built, and my passion for sharing this wonderful place with others. Earlham is not just a college to me; it’s home.
Favorite Richmond spot: Depends on the mood. Roscoes and Thai Thara are always the best bet for food. Great food and good vibes. In the summer, I like to go to the Richmond Farmers Market and walk around the park, but Paint the Towne is my favorite activity — you get to paint ceramics and take it home.
Fun fact about me: I’ve lived in 5 countries.
