Welfare Advisory Committee
The Welfare Advisory Committee advises the Human Resources Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and President regarding faculty and staff welfare policies (e.g., insurance programs, benefits, general salary scales, retirement programs, tuition benefits, annual assessment of welfare/campus climate), providing perspectives from across the community. The Welfare Advisory Committee works with the Budget Advisory committee each year to make a joint recommendation for wage increases that is sent to the CFO and President for consideration. The Welfare Advisory Committee works with The Office of Institutional Effectiveness to gather and examine relevant data. Based on community feedback, the committee may make recommendations to improve campus welfare. It serves as a sounding board for policy updates and changes. The committee cannot serve as an advocate in any official grievance case, but it does hear individual grievance cases that could lead to policy changes. The Welfare Advisory Committee reports to Faculty Meeting and Staff Meeting as a matter of information, to keep all employees updated.
