Earlham College has once again been recognized among the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, earning a spot in The Princeton Review’s “Best 391 Colleges” guide for 2026.
Earlham ranks 17th in the nation for “Best Classroom Experience,” one of just 25 colleges and universities to be highlighted in the category. The ranking is based on student survey responses evaluating their professors, classroom and lab facilities, the amount of class time devoted to discussion, and class attendance. This marks the 10th consecutive year Earlham has been included, underscoring a longstanding tradition of excellence and student satisfaction.
“Earlham’s classroom experience reflects the very best of what a college education should be,” said Earlham President Paul Sniegowski. “Our faculty combine deep expertise with a genuine commitment to mentoring and engaging students. The fact that our students themselves are the ones elevating us to this level of national recognition is both humbling and inspiring.
“For 10 years running, The Princeton Review has affirmed what our community knows to be true: Earlham is a place where rigorous academics, thoughtful discussion, and meaningful relationships prepare students to make a difference in the world, no matter what they do next,” Sniegowski added.
In addition to its classroom experience ranking, Earlham appears on The Princeton Review’s list of Best Midwestern Colleges and is recognized as one of the nation’s Green Colleges for its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.
Earlham’s reputation for quality and value is reflected in other national rankings as well. U.S. News & World Report lists Earlham among the nation’s Top 75 liberal arts colleges and as one of its “Best Value Colleges.”
