About Me

I’m a Inorganic chemist interested in developing new catalysts to study the activation of small molecules such as Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen. These transformations are very crucial to advancing sustainable energy solutions however, are exceedingly difficult. Fortunately, nature provide inspiration, as enzymes are able to catalyze these reactions efficiently with base metals.

At Earlham College, I contribute to courses in Chemistry department. Outside the classroom and lab, I greatly enjoy exploring the outdoors. When at home, I often relax by painting, Reading or simply by listening to music.

Why do you teach at Earlham?

I am drawn to teaching at Earlham because of its strong liberal arts tradition, which closely reflects the educational environment that shaped my own academic journey and its something I deeply value. Equally important is Earlham’s enduring commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Principles that are not only upheld but actively lived out within the community. In my short time here, I have already experience how dedicated my colleagues are to teaching, and how thoughtfully they work to make learning engaging and meaningful for students. Their hard work continuously inspires me to grow as both a teacher and a researcher.
