How did Earlham help prepare you for your current career?
“I’m currently a professor of comparative literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Aside from the way my courses prepared me for advanced scholarship, Earlham professors were also excellent models for engaged, passionate teaching and advising.”
Why do you volunteer for the college?
“I believe that Earlham is a leader in educating students to be ethical, compassionate, and critical thinkers. I taught as a visiting professor at Earlham for a year, and the students today are as amazing as the classmates I knew as a student. They, and future generations of Earlhamites, deserve our support.”
Favorite Earlham memory?
“Hard to choose, but I would say volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the Richmond community and performing as the Backstreet Boys in Air Guitar with my beloved Hobbs House housemates.”
