Students awarded nearly $300,000 during Earlham College’s Annual Scholarship Day

February 16, 2021

Nearly $300,000 was awarded during Earlham College’s spring Scholarship Day to support the next class of students in their future educational pursuits.

Seventy-nine students from 23 states and two countries participated in the virtual event, now in its second year.  Students had the opportunity to electronically submit portfolios, auditions and presentations in advance of the competition. They were also interviewed by Earlham faculty members for scholarship consideration.

Scholarships were awarded to 46 students and ranged from $1,000 to full tuition in the areas of community service and engagement, chemistry, art, music and theatre art. Three full tuition scholarships were awarded for diversity leadership.

“Scholarship Day is an invitation-only event for students who applied to Earlham College under our Early Action program to be part of the Class of 2025,” said David Hawsey, vice president for enrollment management. “These students all have outstanding academic credentials, as well as special talents and interests indicating they would thrive at Earlham College.”

Admissions staff and student ambassadors were also available to answer questions throughout the virtual event. A virtual tour of campus was also offered.
