Grants
Grants are typically need-based funds provided by the federal or state government. Earlham College also administers its own grant funds, thanks to our generous donors and alumni/ae. Grant funding does not have to be repaid. To be considered for the grants below, make sure to complete the FAFSA every year.

Earlham College Grants
Earlham College Grant and Endowed Scholarships
The Earlham College Grant is a need-based grant made possible by the generosity of Earlham’s friends and alumni/ae. These grants need to be applied for annually by completing the FAFSA every year.
How do I apply?
- Domestic students: Complete the FAFSA by March 1
- International students: Complete the International Student Financial Information Form by March 1 (first year only)
Federal Grants
Federal Pell Grant
This federal need-based grant awards up to $6,895 for the 2022–23 award. The amount will vary each academic year depending on federal funding. Pell Grant eligibility is based on the EFC calculated on the FAFSA.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The FSEOG program is administered directly by Earlham’s Office of Financial Aid. Pell Grant recipients are given preference for these need-based funds with grants up to $2,500.
How do I apply?
Complete the FAFSA by June 30.
Indiana Grants
The Commission for Higher Education is dedicated to making college affordable for all Indiana residents. The commission offers awards based on need, achievement and merit. Review the programs below to learn more.
