How did Earlham help prepare you for your current career?

“Although my career has been in contemporary dance (as an independent choreographer, artistic director of my company and Professor in the Department of Dance at Ohio State), it was not really a big part of the Earlham experience during my years. My biggest takeaway was the support of friends and professors who took an interest in what I was up to, even more than I knew at the time. The quiet support of friends (and Friends) when I was still fairly mystified by life did more for my sense of self than whatever dancing I engaged in. I’m sure I’m not alone in realizing, years later, that my sense of purpose and collaboration began at Earlham before I realized what that meant.”

What is something you have done on council that you enjoy?

“I’m a newbie, so nothing yet!”
