Bridging Campus, Community, and Opportunity

Revitalizing Richmond isn’t just about buildings — it’s about how people move, interact, and access what downtown has to offer. Our Connect work strengthens the links between Earlham, downtown, and the greater community by improving public transit, expanding safe pedestrian routes, and making it easier for everyone to enjoy Richmond’s core.

What’s included

Safer, Smoother Paths Between Campus and Downtown

A quick walk or bike ride should be all it takes to get from Downtown to Richmond’s Westside and Earlham’s Campus. That’s why we’re creating a multi-use path along a quiet, safe, and more comfortable stretch of West Main Street that connects Downtown to Clear Creek Park and also connects to Earlham. This new path will tie into the existing “Loop” at the entrance to Starr Gennett Plaza, which feeds into Downtown and the Depot District.

A Fresh Start for Public Safety

We’re helping the City of Richmond reimagine its public transit system from the ground up. That starts with a complete rebranding of Roseview Transit, the city’s public bus service, and the addition of Richmond’s first-ever electric vehicle: a trolley-style bus that connects campus, downtown, and the Depot District. Improvements to routes, signage, and rider information will make it easier for everyone to navigate the city, especially those without access to a car.

Confidence in Connection

Whether you’re a student exploring town, a resident commuting to work, or a family heading downtown for a festival, you should feel safe, supported, and welcome along the way. That’s the real goal of Connect: making access feel possible and inviting for all.
