The Earlham Writing Center offers peer-led consultations about the essays and projects you are working on for classes here at Earlham, as well as creative writing, presentation preparation, and career-focused writing like cover letters and resumes. These consultations are 25-50 minute meetings where you will read your paper out loud, discuss suggestions and resources, as well as where you personally are in the writing process and what concerns you have with the work.

Update: March 24, 2020

The Writing Center will be operating remotely using Zoom starting March 25, 2020, through the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester with the following limited hours.

Tuesday: 9 a.m. - Noon
Wednesday: 2 - 5 p.m.
Thursday: 7 - 10 p.m.
(All Times Eastern)

Make an Appointment

To make an appointment, please use the online scheduler.

Is it your first time using the online scheduler? If so, please select 'Click Here to Register' at the top of the page. Fill out the information on the New Account page and select 'Register.' This will return you to the log in page where you may now log in using your email and password. Please select the schedule you would like to view (Writing Center or Peer Tutoring) and select 'Log In.'

You may make appointments by clicking on any of the white boxes. You can make an appointment with a specific consultant or for a specific time for up to 1 hour, however the consultation will only last 50 minutes maximum (the online scheduler doesn't provide an option for 50 minutes). Once you select a time a new window will open. Please include an explanation of what you would like to focus on during your session.

Please be aware that we will hold your appointment for you for 15 minutes after the scheduled time. After that point, if someone is waiting for a session, we will let them have it. We need students to be on time, and it is important for you to cancel your appointment if you cannot come. This is how we are able to serve the maximum number of students.

Thanks for making an appointment at the Writing Center. We look forward to working with you!
