Rajaram Krishnan<\/a> has been hired as Earlham College\u2019s first associate vice president of institutional effectiveness<\/a>, effective July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishnan is currently a professor of economics at Earlham and has been on the faculty since 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis analytical skills, his strategic vision and commitment to widening the path to an Earlham education, his deep understanding of Earlham, and his desire to see Earlham flourish make him the ideal fit for this newly created position,\u201d Earlham President Anne Houtman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishnan will play a pivotal role as the College prepares for its 10-year accreditation visit from the Higher Learning Commission in 2024, Houtman notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is his goal to ensure that up-to-date, reliable data will be readily available to the campus community as a resource to inform decisions related to policy and process,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishnan did his undergraduate work at Vivekananda College, Madras, and earned his Ph.D. in economics at Boston University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before coming to Earlham he worked briefly at Tufts University and Grinnell College. Along with his classroom teaching and scholarly activities, Krishnan has been actively involved in leading students for off-campus experiences in Kenya, India, Singapore, China, London, and August Wilderness in Utah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is also deeply involved in faculty governance. He was a past co-convener of the Curricular Policy Committee, as well as the convener of the search Committee for the vice president of institutional advancement. Over the years he has also been in and convened the Budget Committee, the Admissions and Financial Aid Committee, and the Events Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishnan plans to continue teaching.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
