Earlham College is expanding access to its nationally recognized classroom experience as part of a new Online@Earlham initiative. Nine online courses spanning the College’s curriculum will be offered this summer.

Registration is now available for current students and, for the first time, Earlham alumni and the general public. Classes are being offered in an accelerated, seven-week format, beginning May 26 and ending July 15. Tuition is discounted at 65 percent of normal costs.

“Our Online@Earlham initiative is an important step in our commitment to widening the path to an Earlham education,” President Anne Houtman said. “Coursework is affordable and flexible to meet the needs of bachelor’s degree-seeking students and others looking to expand their knowledge and further shape their worldview.”

Each class is worth three credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Class sizes are capped to maintain an intimate and transformative learning experience. Topics include personal finance, the history of medicine through epidemics, Chinese love stories, business communications, history of rock-and-roll, introduction to psychological perspectives, trauma-informed classroom and social emotional learning, motivations and emotion, financial accounting, and banking and monetary policy.

Students must have a high school diploma and meet Earlham College’s admissions requirements. Due to the accelerated format of the classes, students can only take one course during the term.

Registration is available through May 12 or until classes fill up.
