Earlham community members participated in a circle of peace on Friday, Feb. 25, in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Like many of you, I awoke on Thursday to news that Russia invaded Ukraine, sparking the first European land war in decades. My heart is heavy for the residents of the region, and even heavier still knowing that members of our community and their families are directly affected by this violence and upheaval.

I invite you to participate in a Vigil for Peace on The Heart, organized by the Office of Religious Life and scheduled for noon on Monday, Feb. 28.

Please join me in holding the people of Ukraine and Russia — including our students, employees and alumni with ties to the region — in the light at this dark time.
