Corinne Deibel, a professor of chemistry at Earlham College, will become Earlham\u2019s next registrar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A member of Earlham\u2019s faculty since 1997 and a leader on campus in the areas of collaborative research and off-campus study, Deibel has expertly positioned herself for the new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCorinne has a deep understanding of our students and our curriculum and she is committed to best practices in advising. She\u2019s a natural fit for this role and will be an effective advocate for students in their varied educational pursuits,\u201d Earlham President Anne Houtman said. \u201cShe has also been actively involved in major committees, providing outstanding service to her colleagues in every office and department on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first-generation woman in science and an international faculty member, Deibel completed her undergraduate education and a master\u2019s degree at Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure de Chimie Organique and Min\u00e9rale, in Paris. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before coming to Earlham, she worked at the Center for Applied Energy Research and at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile I am passionate about teaching and mentoring my students, I am excited about the opportunity to help transform the lives of a broader group of students and contribute new initiatives to the institution that has been my home for the past 24 years,\u201d Deibel said. \u201cThroughout my career at Earlham, improving students\u2019 experiences has guided all of my work as a faculty member, from teaching and advising, to the administrative service that I have provided to the College.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corinne will begin her new duties July 1.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
