Kim Tanner currently serves as the Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement, overseeing Earlham's fundraising and alumni engagement operations. She previously served as the Senior Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and continues to handle the College’s work with planned gifts as well as having a roster of major gift and annual fund prospects, oversee Community Relations, and supports the College's President by helping to leverage the president’s coverage, time and effort on achieving the strategic mission and goals of the College. She serves as a member of the College’s cabinet.
Kim graduated from Earlham in 1990 and went on to work on her master's degree at Ball State, while teaching special education in the Richmond Community Schools. In 1993, she returned to Earlham to work as an Assistant Dean of Admissions, charged with starting our first Alumni and Admissions Program. After two years in Admissions, she joined the Alumni and Development Office as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. In 1997, she became the Director of Alumni Relations, serving in that position for five years.
In 2001, she became the Director of Planned Giving, assuming the duties of the Associate Vice President title a year later. She previously served as the Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement for a portion of the 2017-2018 academic year.
