Indoor Gym Climbing

The Indoor Gym Climbing course is offered on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. Instructors are other Earlham students who are experienced in top-rope climbing and bouldering, as well as safety and risk management. For the first 6 weeks of the semester, students meet as a class to receive training on climbing and belay technique. The course concludes with a reflection/evaluation session and each student completing 8 hours of climbing outside of class time before the end of the semester. Course fee: $100.

Course Description:

Indoor Gym Climbing – AWPE 201-1

An introduction to the sport of gym climbing.  This course takes place in the first 7 weeks of the semester.  This class will involve 6 introductory classes and an additional 8 documented hours of open climbing throughout the semester. Fee: $100.00 (includes semester climbing pass and textbook)

IMPORTANT: First class meeting: First Monday of the semester at 7 pm at the Wellness Center.  Only students registered on Self-Service AND present at the first class will be enrolled.  Due to limited enrollment, there will be no refunds after the first class.  Over-enrolled courses are registered by lottery.
