Statement on Radio Troy
July 10, 2020
Editor's note: The following is a statement from Earlham College about its relationship with a vendor in Richmond, Indiana.
The Earlham College Department of Athletics has ended its working relationship with Troy Derengowski, the owner of Radio Troy, effective immediately.
The values expressed by Troy on recent public broadcasts, including those associated with the Black Lives Matter movement, do not align with the College’s core values of respect for persons, peace and justice, and community. These broadcasts have since been deleted.
In order to live up to the ideals that are expected at Earlham, we will not tolerate any racially insensitive comments or actions from any members of our campus community, including the vendors with whom we partner.
Our goal is to continue to deliver a high quality live streaming service for our student-athletes, our families, our friends, our community and our fans. We will share an update as soon as it is available.
