A “Best Value” college

For Good

Think a high-quality liberal arts education at a nationally ranked private college is out of reach? Think again.

What is value?

We believe that every student should have access to a selective, nationally ranked institution like Earlham. That’s why you can rest assured that we’ll be here to help as you navigate the college financial aid process.

We also realize that affordability does not necessarily equal value. Earlham College is not only affordable, but we are consistently ranked among U.S. News and World Report’s top national liberal arts institutions, and, according to The Princeton Review, we have one of the nation’s best classroom experiences. Because of all of this, The Princeton Review also consistently ranks us as one of the nation’s “Best Value” colleges.

The quality of our academic experiences goes far beyond rankings. Many prestigious organizations—including the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Watson Foundation, and the Lilly Foundation—invest in our students, our academic programs and our facilities.

Even with all of these accolades, we measure our success by the countless Earlhamites who lead extraordinary lives of mission and influence due to their Earlham experience. No statistic or numerical rank can account for the personal commitment an Earlham education demands or the lifelong impact our graduates can expect as alumni.

As a Best Value College, we seek to provide an education that is not an expense for our students, but an investment in their future. Because we believe value comes from making our world-class education, and the extraordinary opportunities that come with it, accessible for all of our students—not only while they’re at Earlham, but also long after they graduate.

At Earlham College, our programs are never one size fits all. Communicate with your personal program adviser to discover just how affordable, flexible and easy it can be to attain your degree. Let’s get started today.

What’s your return on investment?

A successful, meaningful career.

When considering value, many of us ask: what kind of return on my investment can I expect?

For a college education, the return on investment is found in the kind of life you can be expected to lead after you graduate. And for many of us, that includes the kind of work we want to do in the world through our careers.

At Earlham, we don’t define career success as just landing any job. For us, a successful career is one where you find joy and meaning in the work you do—where you are able to shine at your brightest and have an impact for good. And to make sure you’re prepared for your life’s work, we have the Epic Advantage, our guarantee that every Earlham student will have the opportunity to pursue a donor-funded, career-discerning internship or research experience before graduation.

Our alumni consistently report that they find their jobs to be both meaningful and related to what they studied at Earlham. They’re working in major nonprofits, government organizations, corporations and businesses all over the world, and recent grads have received prestigious scholarships and fellowships including the Rhodes, Watson and Fulbright.

High-Growth Industries and Jobs

Many Earlham graduates find employment in some of today’s fastest-growing fields, including technology, healthcare and education.

86% Medical School Acceptance Rate

Earlham students are accepted into top graduate and professional schools all over the country and the world. And students pursuing medical school are accepted at rates well above the national average.

Successful First Destinations

Year after year, over ninety percent of our students consistently find meaningful employment or are accepted into graduate or professional schools within six months of graduation.

Your personalized Epic journey

A college education is a path for you to achieve your goals. But without the right guides, opportunities and fellow travelers, your journey to success is made more difficult than it has to be.

Earlham’s faculty and staff are dedicated to the success of our students. And that’s why we’ve designed the Epic journey—your personalized path through college that includes academics, internships, research, off-campus study and leadership opportunities.

Starting with Earlham’s Center for Global and Career Education, you’ll work with career coaches, advisers and off-campus study faculty and staff to craft a plan for the experiences you want to have before graduation—including how you want to use your donor-funded Epic Advantage experience. Whatever your major, if you have an interest in entrepreneurship, healthcare, social justice or sustainability, we also have specialized faculty and programs ready to engage with you in developing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems.

And because none of us achieves success alone, you’ll find at Earlham a richly diverse community of fellow students who will broaden your network—and your worldview—in amazing ways.

Earlham will change you.

And you’ll change the world—for good.

“If every college and university sharpened young minds and consciences as effectively as Earlham does, this country would approach utopia.“

Colleges That Change Lives

Earlham is one of the 40 colleges chosen by Loren Pope for inclusion in his book, Colleges That Change Lives, first published in 1996.

In his widely acclaimed college guide, Pope focused on the liberal arts colleges that “not only equip youths to live full lives but they work their magic on a variety of aptitudes, academic and others as important…. Every one of these catalytic places will push and stretch you beyond what you think possible, but they won’t let you fall.”

At Earlham, we take this mission seriously. Through rigorous academics, personal support and incredible experiential opportunities, we prepare our students for lives and careers of purpose. And this commitment is reflected in our national rankings, from The Princeton Review to US News and World Report and the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
