Full Dome Movies at Joseph Moore Museum

Full Dome Movies utilize the unique curved screen of the planetarium to project an immersive 20-40 minute long movie. Movies will be screened every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Everyone has seen the sun, but how much do you really know about it? Discover the secrets of our closest star and experience never-before-seen images of the Sun’s violent surface in immersive, fulldome format! This full dome movie will be shown on Saturdays and Sundays in February at 2:00 pm. Ages 8 and over are recommended.

Phantom of the Universe: The Hunt for Dark Matter

Do you want to go on a hunt for the phantom of the universe - dark matter? Let's embark on a journey that travels to the galaxy and plummets deep underground to explore the dark matter, from the Big Bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider. This full dome movie will be shown on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm and for about 27 minutes. Ages 12 and over are recommended.

Explore how these pieces of glass evolve into the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and discovery made by astronomers for the last 400 years. This full dome movie will be shown on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. All ages are recommended.

Out There: The Quest for Extrasolar Worlds

Are we the only ones in the universe? Are their distant worlds with extraordinary forms of life? The full dome movie tells the story how primitive science fiction of early civilisations lead to future space missions that travel to the surfaces and oceans of moons in the Solar System. This full dome movie will be shown on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Ages 10 and over are recommended.
