Plan A Visit



The museum is open:

  • Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, (Year Round), 1-5 pm
  • Holiday closures: we are open most holidays, with the exception of New Year's Day, the Saturday of Earlham's commencement (May 2020), Memorial Day, July 4th, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • Group tours are scheduled in advance.


Admission is always free, donations are welcome.


The Joseph Moore Museum is adjacent to Dennis Hall on the Earlham College Campus. Parking is available behind Dennis Hall and in front of the nearby Admissions Building. Look for our signs to guide you into our parking lot from either the main campus entrance or the D Street entrance. They're also posted along Dennis Hall to guide you around the building to the main entrance to the museum. Or, you can follow the footprints left on the sidewalk by a mastodon also bound for the museum.

Taking the Bus?

Rose View Transit's bus from State Hospital to Earlham College (Route 5) stops on College Avenue every hour on the half hour. Bus fare is $1.50 for adults, $1.25 for students, senior citizens (60+) and disabled passengers, and children under five ride free. Follow the signs on Earlham campus to the museum.
