The Earlham College campus remains closed to the public, but you can still experience the JMM!

How to enjoy the JMM:

  • I have an Earlham ID: Join us in-person or virtually!
  • Someone in my household has an Earlham ID: Join us on campus for outdoor events and virtually!
  • No ID? No problem: Join us virtually and off-campus at the Richmond Farmers Market on select Saturdays.

The Museum is open to Campus ID holders every Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Join us in the galleries for monthly themes and special events.

April Theme LGBTQ+ Scientists

To recognize the National Day of Silence on April 23, we will celebrate the contributions of LGBTQ+ scientists throughout the month of April. Visit during the open hours on Friday and Saturday 1 p.m.-5 p.m. to learn more about these pioneering scientists.

April 2–3, 1–5 p.m. April Fool’s Weekend: Animals speak out about their true nature. Hunt through the museum for our hilarious reinterpretations of the animals on display.

April 16–17, 1–5 p.m. Stargazing: Celebrate the beginning of the Lyrid meteor shower with an in-person planetarium show.

    • April 16 Planetarium Show 4–5 p.m. EST (limit 3 people, also available for virtual screening)
    • April 17 Planetarium Show 2–3 p.m. EST (limit 3 people, also available for virtual screening)

April 21: Earlham Day JMM Programming (time TBD) — Virtual flash talks with students, faculty and alumni.

April 23–24, 1–5 p.m. Earth Day: Fun, Earth-friendly activity you can take with you!

April 24, 2–4 p.m. EcotourEarth Day Celebrate Earth Day with a hike around back campus. Meet at OA Hall promptly at 2 p.m. Open to Earlham students and families.

April 30 – May 2: Virtual Screening Picture a Scientist  — view this movie with a link available all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come with your questions or comments to our related Women in Science Discussion Panel on Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m.

Featuring the contributions that those under the age of 18 have made to the scientific world.

May 7–8, 1–5 p.m. Migratory Bird Days: See if you can spot all the species on display. Win a small prize if you find them all.

May 14–15, 1–5 p.m. Open Study Hours: Find a comfy study spot inside the Joseph Moore Museum to cram for your Spring 2 finals. Study breaks with visiting live reptiles are encouraged.
