Design/Tech Instructor — Theatre Arts (Tenure-Track)

Earlham College invites applications for a Design/Tech Instructor, a tenure-track position. The position in the Department of Theatre Arts begins in July 1, 2018.

The Department seeks to hire a designer/instructor who is excited to teach, mentor and create theatre with bright, motivated students in a liberal arts setting. The faculty emphasizes collaboration, artistic excellence, theatre as service to community and student-centered learning.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities include two academic courses and applied theater construction labs with majors and non-majors who build the mainstage show each semester.

Production responsibilities include design of one production each semester, mentoring students in leadership production positions, and contributions to marketing efforts.

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this tenure-track position is a skilled collaborator with an MFA and/or Ph.D., emphasizing two or more of the following areas: scenic design, lighting design, costume design, and/or stage management with at least three years of undergraduate teaching experience and a promising record of professional work.
