Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Tenure-Track)

Earlham College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in July 2020. Computer Science at Earlham is a growing, dynamic program, with an orientation towards combining rigorous foundations with experiential education and collaboration with other departments as key components of our approach. We are committed to building an inclusive program that is welcoming to a wide variety of students and faculty. Our students are engaged in a very high level of undergraduate research, application development and system support activity with faculty and the department’s post-baccalaureate position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Typical course load is three courses per semester; upper-division classes usually have no more than 25 students. Candidates in all areas of specialization are welcome; interest in leading undergraduate research and/or one or more of the student Applied Science Groups is highly desirable, as is an interest in multidisciplinary collaborations.

Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and be able to teach a broad spectrum of courses across the ACM/IEEE curriculum. It is possible that candidates who are ABD or, in exceptional circumstances, have equivalent experience, will also be considered.
