September 12, 2019

Description

Earlham College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish and Hispanic Studies, with a primary focus in Latin America, to begin in August 2020.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Spanish and Hispanic Studies faculty teach three courses per semester. All faculty teach language courses at all levels and teach upper-level literature and culture courses. The Department is active in summer collaborative research and members lead the College's unique and well-known study-away programs to Spanish-speaking countries and regions of the world. Experience in off-campus program development and leadership is considered an advantage. Some members of the Department contribute to one or more of the College's interdisciplinary programs, such as Comparative Languages and Linguistics; Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies; and Peace and Global Studies.

Experience & Qualifications

Ph.D. and ABD applicants will be considered. All applicants must have near to native proficiency in Spanish, and be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment.
