My name is Lai Jiang. I am serving as the Japanese Language Fellow at Earlham College. I was born and raised in Wuhan, a fast-developing city with rich history and culture in central China. I discovered my passion for language teaching during my undergraduate career at Indiana University. After completing my accounting degree from the business school, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in teaching Japanese. I believe that languages are tools for communication. It is always inspiring to me how learning a new language enables learners to discover and embrace other cultures. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and painting. Both have helped me cope with stress during the pandemic.
