Courses
The following the three courses are required:
- CHEM 111 Principles of Chemistry
- BIOL/CHEM 251 Nutrition
- PSYC 116 Behavior, Health Care and Society
AND one of the following courses:
- AWPE 341 Exercise Science
- AWPE TBA Kinesiology
AND one of the following courses:
- AWPE 143 Strength Training
- AWPE 240 CPR First Aid and Emergency Management
- AWPE 329 Lifetime Wellness
- PSYC 372 Psychology of Sport
Co-Curricular Activity
The Co-curricular component will be facilitated by the Center for Global Health and Wellness Programs.
Currently established, experiential opportunities include:
- Volunteering and service at Reid Health (current CGH partner)
- Volunteering and service at Cutting Edge Physical Therapy (current CGH partner)
- Volunteering and service at the Athletics and Wellness Center or other approved facility
- Equivalent immersive experience as approved by the Exercise Science Integrated Program leadership team
A typical volunteering effort can expect 40 hours of service per semester.
Culminating Experience
Students will be required to publicly present, in the form of a poster or oral presentation, a synthesis of their interdisciplinary connections and experiential/practical reflections in the annual Celebration of Scholars event or the Annual Poster conferences.
Alternative and equivalent culminating experiences could be pre-approved through the Exercise Science IP leadership team.
