Earlham College allows me to offer its students a variety of courses I am passionate about teaching in a positive and creative musical environment. I enjoy the interaction with students from varying backgrounds – as they teach me as much as I hope I teach them. Earlham has such a close and supportive environment, that every day I look forward to collaborating with both students and colleagues, whether it’s making music or sharing our cultural differences.

I find that the majority of students here at Earlham have a very intentional and “hungry” approach to learning. They are inquisitive and willing to engage in meaningful conversation about why they are here and what they hope to take with them upon graduation. I enjoy the challenge of sharing my passion with students who feel strongly about music and positive social interaction in their lives. It is easy to really get to know the students here and help them find the path that gives them joy in life.

Chris lives in South Richmond on 100 acres of woods, creek and nature with her husband Pat – also a musician – her 2 outdoor golden retrievers and 2 cats. Her children are Sam and Josh, who are both in the same kind of Power Sports business as their father. Travelling, reading and playing are always part of the plan when enjoying some precious time off.

Earlham College, an independent, residential college, aspires to provide the highest-quality undergraduate education in the liberal arts and sciences, shaped by the distinctive perspectives of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
