Mia Khayat, a native of Israel, has extensive experience and training as a costume designer. Her production credits range from classics like Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard to contemporary works like Urinetown: The Musical to premiere productions of new plays.
“I became a costume designer because I love combining art, storytelling and my own personality to create a visual representation that is true to the vision of the production,” says Mia. “I approach each project, whether it is a new work or established classic, with the same creative integrity that I strive to have in all aspects of my life.”

As a costume designer and makeup artist I am interested in collaboration and creating and researching the nonverbal world of plays.
I see Earlham as a great, safe place to explore learn and create art at any age. We are all here to be a community of learners and that is what attracted me to this school.
I love to draw, sew, knit and craft. I love working with my hands on anything creative.
