The holiday season can be a difficult time of the year to make healthy dietary decisions and maintain your weight. Many Americans gain between one to four pounds during the time between Thanksgiving and New Year's. While this may not seem like a lot, studies show most individuals keep that holiday weight on each year, which can significantly add up over time. This season, give yourself the gift of health by participating in the "Maintain Not Gain" Challenge!
Maintain Not Gain is an 8-week weight maintenance incentive program. Once registered, you will meet with Wellness Programs for your initial weigh in. Afterwards you will receive weekly newsletters, weekly challenges, and submit your weight during submission days. The weekly emails and newsletters are all to help inform you about managing your weight during the holidays. You can form a 2-4 person team with a co-worker or friend to help motivate you along the way. If you do, you can appoint a team captain that will report your team's weekly progress.
*The initial weigh in and the weigh out need to be with the Earlham Wellness Programs staff. All other weight tracking can be done with a scale you find reliable. If you would like to use the same scale you weighed in on, you can contact Wellness staff.
*Whether you are a single participant or a 2-4 person team, you should create a unique team name that we will use for weekly progress reports.
*Teams or single participants that maintain their pre-holiday weight within 2 lbs will be rewarded with an extra entry for the prize drawing.
