Post Election Wellness

Election season can be a stressful time of year. Whether your candidate won or lost, there are lots of emotions you may be feeling at this time. It is common to get overwhelmed with these feelings, but there are some things you can do to alleviate the stress:

  1. Unplug from social media
  2. Take a break from watching news outlets
  3. Take the time to really feel your emotions
  4. Chat with a supportive friend about how you are feeling
  5. Go outside for a walk and enjoy the sunshine
  6. Get plenty of sleep
  7.  Get plenty of exercise
  8. Practice mindfulness
  9. Visit a safe space
  10. Engage in an enjoyed activity If you feel like your concerns surrounding the election are more serious, or you are experiencing stressors that have not gone away over time, you may consider making an appointment with counseling services by going to Earlham.edu/counseling-services and clicking "make an appointment".
