Jay Coffman `02

Coffman , JayJay Coffman `02 majored in Japanese Studies at Earlham and completed his requisite study abroad at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. He was active in theater and music performances for credit at Earlham, and he worked part-time for Eaton Community Schools tutoring grade-school students, who were relocated temporarily from Japan, in English as a second language. He completed a Master of Science at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Informatics in 2009 prior to returning to the U.S. indefinitely. Jay now lives in Delaware, Ohio, with his wife and two daughters, working in production at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. He began his term on the Alumni Council in 2018, and is currently part of the Campus Affairs Committee. His favorite memories of Earlham include performing twice in New Student Orientation skits at Wilkinson Theatre and also performing Joplin's The Entertainer on mallet instruments at Goddard Auditorium during a midyear percussion ensemble concert and destroying it.
