Kurzweil 3000

Kurzweil 3000 is an assistive technology, text-to-speech, learning tool that supports the concept of Universal Design for Learning with a suite of powerful reading, writing, test-taking and study skill tools that makes curricula accessible to all students. It is particularly appropriate for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, those who require reading intervention, students struggling with reading comprehension and English Language Learners (ELL)

Its reading and writing tools allow users to listen and follow along as their reading material is read aloud. The software supports web-based and digital reading material and scanned versions of printed material. It converts reading materials into audible files so users can listen on the go or follow along on their laptops or via the Kurzweil web application.

Additional features include:

  • Thirty-one text-to-speech voices
  • Customizable reading rates
  • Text magnification
  • Eighteen languages and dialects for text-to-speech
  • Access to American Heritage dictionaries
  • Note-taking tools
