Construction Projects


The Capital Projects Department provides insight into the owner’s best interest in new project construction and major renovations of existing structures. The Capital Projects Manager, Darrell Shepherd, also provides supervision to the construction managers, general contractors, and Earlham personnel involved in the projects.

Other functions of the Capital Projects Department include assisting in establishing budgets, helping in the design process, and assuring the quality and the function of the new or renovated project is maintained until the users occupy the space.

Earlham is working to create a science complex that will highlight the advanced scientific research of faculty and students in all fields.

The first phase of the Natural Science Complex project was the renovation of this 45,000 square foot facility.

Following renovations, Tyler Hall was dedicated in October 2013. It serves as the campus’ Welcome Center.
