College to Life

A year out from graduation, 93% of our alumni report that they are either employed or attending graduate school, but our commitment to the success of our graduates goes beyond their initial “placement” in that first job or graduate program.

Our goal is prepare students to lead satisfying lives and make significant societal contributions as previous alumni have done. Earlham graduates include a Nobel laureate, winners of the Pulitzer Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship and Golden Globe Award, leading scientific researchers and executives at Fortune 500 companies. They also include diplomats, doctors, teachers and activists — and most credit Earlham for shaping their world views and preparing them for diverse and dynamic careers.

Starting in their first semester, Earlham students begin exploring possible career paths, and discussing with faculty the steps they need to take in order to meet their goals and create positive change in the world.

Based on a survey of graduates, Forbes magazine lists Earlham among the top colleges in the U.S. for Return of Investment. Payscale.com ranks us as a leader in the percentage of our graduates who find their work “very meaningful.”
