Reiko Masui

Reiko Masui is a Sport Science major in her fourth year at Waseda University. She has enjoyed volunteering at a local elementary school and dancing so-ranbushi. She is taking Psychology, Journalism, Square Dancing and Women’s Lacrosse, in addition to the English as a Second Language classes.

Shin Torizuka is a third year Politics major. He plays on the Earlham tennis team and is a member of the Japanese Arts club. His advice for Waseda students is, “Earlham is a good choice for study abroad. There are many students who are interested in Japan, and TSA students can make friends easily, even though they cannot speak well.”

Hiroki Mizunuma

Hiroki Mizunuma studies Commerce at Waseda. He is in his second year. He is taking Economics and Business Management classes at Ealham as well. Hiroki has participated in Dance Alloy, a student-run dance show for the entire campus, and the Model United Nations conference in Cleveland. He suggests that you study English very hard before studying abroad!

Keiko Naito

Keiko Naito is a second year student in the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS). Keiko has enjoyed participating in many extra-curricular activities and she says that the professors and advisers provide friendly support. Her favorite activity so far is participating in the “Hand Drum” ensemble. She is also in the Gospel Revelations choir and takes voice lessons.

Ryoma Nagata

Ryoma Nagata is a third-year student in the school of Science and Engineering. His major is Applied Mathematics. Ryoma is taking Math classes at Earlham and is starting a kendo club at Earlham! While he wishes that he were allowed to work on campus, he likes the fact that he can do an internship in the U.S. after the TSA program.

Bahha Kikuchi

Saki (Bahha) Kikuchi is a second-year student at Waseda, studying Russian language and Russian literature. She likes the small classes at Earlham and the close relationships between the teachers and students. Her biggest challenge is writing essays and tests, but since Bahha is outgoing, she is having a great time and is involved in many extra-curricular activities, such as Earthquakers dance team, Gospel Revelations choir, Earlham Word (the school newspaper), Dance Alloy, Japanese Arts Club, and Russian Club.
