Kim Tanner currently serves as the Senior Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. She handles the College’s work with planned gifts as well as having a roster of major gift and annual fund prospects, oversees Community Relations, and supports the Interim President in helping to leverage the president’s coverage, time and effort on achieving the strategic mission and goals of the College. She serves as a member of the College’s cabinet.
Kim graduated from Earlham in 1990 and went on to work on her master's degree at Ball State, while teaching special education in the Richmond Community Schools. In 1993, she returned to Earlham to work as an Assistant Dean of Admissions, charged with starting our first Alumni and Admissions Program. After two years in Admissions, she joined the Alumni and Development Office as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. In 1997, she became the Director of Alumni Relations, serving in that position for five years.
In 2001, she became the Director of Planned Giving, assuming the duties of the Associate Vice President title a year later. In 2017-18, she temporarily served as the Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement before assuming the role she holds today.
