Earlham begins its academic year with a faculty-student panel discussion on the summer reading for new students: Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Faculty members Jennifer Seely, Nate Eastman and Max Crumley-Effinger along with students Lindelwe Ndlovu, Desmond Adeniyi and Peniel Ibe will respond to Adiche’s story of two young Nigerians, Ifemelu and Obinze, who struggle under military dictatorship, and with immigration to other countries and the complexities of shared love for their homeland and each other. Faculty member James Logan will moderate the convocation. Join us September 10, when Adiche visits our campus.
Free admission, no tickets required
