During Indiana Private College Week, students have an opportunity to visit multiple campuses in a short period of time without missing school.

Come See for Yourself: Indiana Private College Week is July 22-26

July 11, 2013

From Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, Earlham College and Indiana’s 30 other private, non-profit colleges and universities across the state are opening their doors to students, parents and any others interested in the college selection process. Indiana Private College Week is presented by the institutions in conjunction with Independent Colleges of Indiana, a non-profit association which is the collective voice for excellence and choice in higher education for all students.

Those visiting will get to experience firsthand the unique personality of each campus through tours, informational sessions and conversations with students and staff. Individually scheduled tours are offered, as well.  Although Indiana’s private colleges encourage and welcome visitors throughout the year, this concentrated week offers students an opportunity to visit multiple campuses in a short period of time and without missing school.

According to research conducted by TargetX, 90 percent of high-school students interviewed about their college selection said, “I visited campus and it just felt right.” The campus visit is a highly trusted source of information because a school’s description on paper finally comes to life. There’s no better way for students to experience the “feel” of a campus than to visit and begin to discover what their best fit for college will be.

“Students and families discover through visiting that Indiana private colleges are within reach, financially and otherwise,” says Richard L. Ludwick, president & CEO of the Independent Colleges of Indiana. “ICI colleges and universities make millions of scholarship dollars available to students all four years, making top flight higher education a dream come true for tens of thousands of students. We want this week to be a gateway to discovering that dream realized.”

Students who visit Earlham during Indiana Private College week will receive an Earlham t-shirt. Visitors between the ages of 16 and 20 touring ICI campuses during Private College Week will have the chance to enter a drawing for one of three Amazon Kindle Fires. Entry forms and rules will be available at each campus.

Earlham is also offering Summer Experience at Earlham visit days on July 24 and August 2, at which students can experience more than normal summer visits allow.
